How to create printables to sell on Etsy

You’ll need to use a software to create your printables. There are tons of different platforms available. I recommend choosing Canva because it’s free and easy to use.

Step 1 – Choose your document size

The first step is to choose what document size will work best for the printable you’re making. For example, when creating a planner, the most popular document sizes are A5, A4, and US Letter Size (8.5 x 11 inches).

Step 2 – Create your design

Once you’ve selected your document size, you can start creating your design. You’ll be shown a blank page that you can work with.

There are pre-made templates available to get you inspired and you can use any of the free elements in your printables.

But keep in mind that you can’t resell Canva templates or stock elements as-is.

Step 3 – Download and list your design on Etsy

On Canva, download your design as a PDF standard or PDF as print. Then you can create a listing to sell your printable on Etsy.

When someone buys your digital product, the file will automatically be sent to them. You don’t have to worry about manually sending them anything, which makes this a great way to make passive income.

In your listing on Etsy, I recommend including detailed instructions on how to download your product. Basically, you want to include everything that a potential customer will need to know.

For example, you want to make sure that your listing says that “this is not a physical item” and details on the file type and size.

Including helpful photos is also a good way to increase your sales. Your product will look best when displayed on a mockup.

Despite not being among the top few social media platforms in terms of monthly active users (although they have over 445 million monthly active users),

Pinterest arguably has the largest number of users with a “buyer” mindset

This only means people are ready to spend and are constantly looking for inspiration & buying things based on that inspiration.

And that is where the potential to make money lies.

Making money on Pinterest involves leveraging its platform to drive traffic, engage an audience, and monetize that engagement.

In a few years, this blog has received over 5 million users & made over $335,000 from Pinterest; this very fact makes me so bullish when it comes to leveraging it to make a side hustle for yourself.

Even if you’re not selling something (yet) or have nothing to offer, you still can make a great deal from Pinterest.

Let’s take my case for example,

I have never sold anything on Pinterest or on my blog. But somehow, I earned over $335k in revenue; HOW?

I make a massive chunk of my income through ads and some with affiliate marketing, in which I don’t have to sell anything.

Bloggers often use Pinterest to drive website traffic; this is common knowledge. But I’ve seen among people who do not publish online that they have no idea what Pinterest is.

“…Ohhh Pinterest? Is that a “food recipe & outfit inspiration” platform? Mostly women use it, right?…”

This is the image people have about Pinterest. But let me tell you, Pinterest is so much more than that.

Use Pinterest to drive traffic to your blog or website that makes money through ads, sponsored content, or selling products/services. High-quality, engaging pins that lead to valuable content can increase your site’s visitors and revenue.

When people come to read a blog, apart from the text, images, or videos, they are also served with ads (you might’ve seen a few here and there).

Each time a reader sees or clicks on those ads, the site owner gets a little bit of revenue, called a PPI (pay-per-impression) type of ad.

In this model, the user gets free content, the publisher gets paid, and the ad network (the network that facilitates this exchange) also gets a share; it’s a win-win-win.

It is calculated per RPM (rate per millie), rate per thousand views. The more people see/click those ads, the more you earn.

For example, I’ve made about $250,000 just from ads From an ad network (Mediavine), and that too with around 5 million sessions, and since the RPM shows an amount of $49.91, it means per thousand sessions, this blog made around $49.91

It’s that simple.

2. Affiliate Marketing:

Promoting other businesses or people’s products in your content with your customized links gives you a percentage of that sale (affiliate commission); this is another way I make money on this blog.

Also, you can share pins that include affiliate links to products you recommend. When someone purchases through your link, you earn a commission.

However, you must ensure you disclose affiliate links to comply with Pinterest and legal guidelines.

So apart from that $250k, this blog had earned around $85k in affiliate commissions.

• Selling courses that people sell and make hundreds of thousands,

With your own products or services, Pinterest can be an effective platform to increase visibility and sales.

This strategy involves creating pins that directly showcase what you’re offering.

Whether selling handmade goods, digital products like ebooks or courses, or offering services such as consulting or design work, Pinterest can help you reach a wider audience.

Creating Pins

Design visually appealing pins that highlight your products or services. Use high-quality images or graphics and engaging descriptions, and include keywords that your target audience might use to search for items like yours. The goal is to make your pins stand out in a user’s feed and encourage clicks.

Link to Your Shop or Website

Each pin should directly link to where the user can learn more about the product or service or make a purchase. This could be a product page on your online store, a landing page for your service, or an Etsy shop. The easier it is for someone to go from Pinterest to making a purchase, the better.

Boards for Different Categories

But trust me when I say this, I started this blog as a way to build my own side hustle in 2018, and back then too people were claiming that the blogging is saturated.

But fast forward today, I made over $26,000 in September 2023. And I don’t even spend more than 4 hours a day working.

That’s the beauty of having a side hustle/business.

Owning your own business, no matter how small, gives you the time and creative freedom to do anything you want, however you want.

And when it comes to money, there is no upper limit!

#2 is working as a freelancer for other companies and businesses:

Working as a freelancer has its perks too. Here you can earn money by offering your paid services without having to deal with all the office politics and annoying morning meetings.

As a freelancer, you also get to choose your work hours and workload, you can do as much as you want and as little as you want.

When it comes to the money-making part, there are quite a few ways you can do so. You can monetize your blog by:

To get started, first, you will have to think of a name for your blog (domain name).

For example, the domain name of this blog is Prosmartrepreneur.com, similarly, you’ll have to come up with a blog name.

Try to think of a name that reflects the topic/niche of the blog.

If your blog is about cooking and recipes, you can name it KathysKitchen.com or something crazy like HolyMolyGuacamole.com; it is entirely up to you.

Alternatively, you can name your blog after your full name, (First name)(Surname).com. 

It is very much possible that your choice of domain might be already registered.

Here you have no choice but to try out different names and word combinations until you get something relevant and available, sorry.

If the domain name you entered is available, TAKE IT! You have to register it as soon as possible because it might not be available tomorrow, or ever. Domain names are volatile like that.

Yes, you need to contribute a small fee of at least $20 in order to activate your account on the platform, that’s kinda weird to me but I guess that’s one of their ways to make money.

But the site claim as that you will make up this money by being a friend for an hour if you charge $20/Hr, which makes sense, but you need to get hired for that.

The company claims that the average rate on the site that people charges is $35 per hour so you can also set your rates accordingly.

4. FriendPC

FriendPC is a great platform to get paid as a virtual friend.

It is like a combination of all the platforms we have mentioned above.

You do almost everything from proving simple support, and companionship to offering in-person meetups, gaming sessions, video calls, tour services, etc.

Not only that, but you can also offer virtual Girlfriend/Boyfriend services and charge anywhere from $5 to $15 per hour for a chat session to $20-$30 per hour for video calls.

You can offer what you are comfortable with unless it is not affecting anyone’s life in a bad way.

FriendPC handles all the payments for you so you don’t have to worry about that.

You can completely focus on running your online friend business by managing clients, scheduling calls, and setting your rates.

FriendPC pays as soon as you finish your job as a friend so you don’t have to wait for weeks and months for your payment.

You can also pay a small monthly membership fee to FriendPC to get extra benefits like getting featured on their homepage.

5. Fiverr Gigs

You must have heard about this website already, Fiverr is a freelancing platform where people offer different types of services (Fiverr call them as Gig’s) for different prices.

Now Fiverr is just a platform and it is not totally focused on online friendship services.

But I have seen people create gigs on Fiverr where they offer their friendship for a certain price.

While it’s true that people are selling their online friends Fiverr gigs but I don’t think it’s a good idea.

As you can see from the ratings, there is not a huge demand for these types of services on Fiverr.

But yeah if you can get a little creative (like the 3rd gig in our screenshot above), you may end up making good money through Fiverr.

For eg. instead of offering simple friendship services you can offer services like:

• Relationship counseling
• Life Coaching
• Gaming friend
• Friend For Youtube Videos (Usually Omegle Videos)

On Fiverr as well, you can set your own rates starting from $5, and keep in mind that Fiverr also takes 20% of your earnings.

So, to conclude making a virtual friend online can be of great help to the ones who do not have anyone to talk to and have a great time with them. Missing out on a good friend in life is no longer an option.

You can very easily look for an online friend on any of the platforms and get satisfactory results from it. It is indeed going to be a very good experience for almost all age groups people. hence. Do not forget to try it out.

Even if you’re not selling something (yet) or have nothing to offer, you still can make a great deal from Pinterest.

Let’s take my case for example,

I have never sold anything on Pinterest or on my blog. But somehow, I earned over $335k in revenue; HOW?

I make a massive chunk of my income through ads and some with affiliate marketing, in which I don’t have to sell anything.

Bloggers often use Pinterest to drive website traffic; this is common knowledge. But I’ve seen among people who do not publish online that they have no idea what Pinterest is.

“…Ohhh Pinterest? Is that a “food recipe & outfit inspiration” platform? Mostly women use it, right?…”

This is the image people have about Pinterest. But let me tell you, Pinterest is so much more than that.

In this model, the user gets free content, the publisher gets paid, and the ad network (the network that facilitates this exchange) also gets a share; it’s a win-win-win.

It is calculated per RPM (rate per millie), rate per thousand views. The more people see/click those ads, the more you earn.

For example, I’ve made about $250,000 just from ads From an ad network (Mediavine), and that too with around 5 million sessions, and since the RPM shows an amount of $49.91, it means per thousand sessions, this blog made around $49.91

Promoting other businesses or people’s products in your content with your customized links gives you a percentage of that sale (affiliate commission); this is another way I make money on this blog.

Also, you can share pins that include affiliate links to products you recommend. When someone purchases through your link, you earn a commission.

However, you must ensure you disclose affiliate links to comply with Pinterest and legal guidelines.

So apart from that $250k, this blog had earned around $85k in affiliate commissions.

So when it comes to creating a list of 101 nice Things to Do with Your Husband or at least going through it, just have FUN!  Matt and I will be celebrating our 11 year wedding anniversary this June 30th.

I’m as crazy for the guy as I was the day I laid eyes on him. I remember seeing Matt in early 1998 and thinking to myself, “That’s the kind of guy I want to be with.” Fate had its hand in securing that later that year and my life was suddenly “complete.”
